The NIM Night Intensification Module utilises an image intensifier for its light gathering power, which is extremely sensitive to bright light.
The NIM simply requires the addition of an 1” auto iris lens to operate effectively.
Light intensifiers, in general, are normally operated only at night (less than 0.01 lux conditions), therefore the life of the NIM depends on the ability of the 1” auto iris lens to limit the light input on the faceplate of the light intensifier for both day and night conditions. When used according to the operator's manual, the NIM has a life of 1 to 3 years. The NIM should not be used in the daytime.
